Vinyl Junkies party band to rock Travelers Rest on May 23

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Vinyl Junkies band will perform pop music from 7 to 9 p.m. May 23 in the outdoor amphitheater at Trailblazer Park, 235 Trailblazer Drive, here.

The concert is part of the 2026 Music in the Park series. 

Food trucks will begin serving food and drinks at 6 p.m., with the band starting at 7 p.m. 

As for the show, a band promotion stated, “The Vinyl Junkies Band is fueled by our passion for making music, entertaining crowds and creating an experience that you will never forget. 

“With a music list that spans 10 decades, we tailor the music to fit the vibe” of any audience “through inventive arrangements, danceable grooves and songs you have not heard other bands play. We will keep” the audience “involved and moving no matter the age.

“Our talented and professional musicians come a variety of backgrounds and have opened, performed or recorded with major label and international artists, such as Lady A, Darius Rucker and Mother’s Finest, as well as session work on film industry soundtracks such as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Men in Black” and stage theater across the U.S.” 

Attendees are urged to bring lawnchairs and/or blankets. Admission is free. 

 
The Spinners to perform classic Philly soul sound May 23 at Opera House

NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Spinners, an iconic classic soul music band that became one of the defining voices of the Philadelphia soul era of the 1970s, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. May 23 in the 145-year-old Newberry Opera House at 1201 McKibben Street here.

Among the group’s hits were “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love?,” “Then Came You” and “The Rubberband Man.” 

A promotion added, “Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, The Spinners’ legacy lives on through a new generation of performers who honor the group’s signature choreography, soaring harmonies and enduring spirit, continuing to captivate audiences around the world.” 

None of the original members of The Spinners perform with the group now, as the last original, Henry Fambrough, retired in 2023 and died in February 2024
